Executive Committee Resolution 2007/01

Guidelines on Use of Media

Whereas, we are aware of technological developments in our world and that we live in a video/media/digitally dominated culture;

Whereas, we see emerging efforts at using projected images as worship aids and adornments to the worship space and celebrations;

 Statement

1.   It is the position of the delegates to the 2007 National Meeting of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions that the FDLC

2.   provide guidelines for the judicious use of electronic multi-media technology,

3.   during the celebration of the liturgy,

4.   and for the incorporation of necessary equipment

5.   in the design of worship spaces in accord with Built of Living Stones #233.

 6. These guidelines should include a statement of relevant issues regarding the use of copyrighted materials

We request that a time-line and procedure for implementation of this resolution be set by the FDLC Board of Directors by January 31, 2008.

Executive Committee Resolution 2007 /02

2009 National Meeting

Given the importance and significance of the catechetical materials being produced by the FDLC in preparation for the implementation of the Third Edition of the Roman Missal, and given that our national meetings are opportune times for us, as a body together, to do our best work,

Statement

1. It is of immediate concern that the FDLC include time in the 2009 National Meeting

2. for a thorough presentation and study of these materials,

3. for which we, in turn, will be responsible in our dioceses.

We request that a time-line and procedure for implementation of this resolution be set by the FDLC Board of Directors by January 31, 2008.
