BCDW - FDLC Workshops

Welcoming the 3rd Edition of the Roman Missal: 
Deepen, Nurture, Celebrate

Training for priests and (arch)diocesan leadership

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Divine Worship and the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions in consultation with the National Organization for Continuing Education of Roman Catholic Clergy (NOCERCC) and the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM) are offering a training workshop on the implementation of the Third Edition of the Roman Missal, specifically designed for:
  • Priests
  • (Arch)diocesan Leaders [Office/Department staff and Commission members]
  • Parish Life Coordinators [those appointed by their (arch)bishop to provide for the pastoral care of a parish without a priest]

 These workshops, designed to "train the trainers" will include 
presentations on:

  • an overview of the Roman Missal
  • the new translation of the texts
  • the chants
  • the art of celebrating the Mass
  • implementing the Roman Missal
  • effective leadership in a time of change

Secretariat for the Bishops’ Committee on Divine Worship staff Msgr. Anthony Sherman, Executive Director, and Rev. Richard Hilgartner, Associate Director, will be the primary presenters for this training session.

In addition these workshops will also include elements of leadership in a time of change designed by Dr. Dolly Sokol, Archdiocese of Santa Fe,  Dr. Brian Reynolds, Archdiocese of Louisville and Dr. Peter Zografos, Diocese of Anchorage.

Each workshop will cover a portion of two days, beginning at 2:00 p.m. the first day, ending at 6:00 p.m. The second day begins with Eucharistic celebration at 8:30 a.m. The workshop concludes at 3:00 p.m.

Fee:
 

  • Open to priests, (arch)diocesan leaders [Office/Department staff and Commission members], and Parish Life Ministers/Coordinators [those appointed by their (arch)bishop to serve as pastor in a parish without a priest].

  • The fee for the BCDW/FDLC Roman Missal workshop is $125 per person.  

  • This fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch on Day Two. 

  • Information on overnight accommodations may be found by clicking on the desired location above.

 

Registration:

Registration is open to:

  • Priests
  • (Arch)diocesan Leaders [Office/Department staff and Commission members]
  • Pastoral Life Coordinators [those appointed by their (arch)bishop to provide for the pastoral care of a parish without a priest]
Upon completion of the USCCB on-line registration, 
you will receive notice to print an invoice, payable to the FDLC.  
Your registration will not be fully processed until payment is received by the FDLC (415 Michigan Avenue, NE, #70, Washington, DC 20017)

For each workshop, registration closes 1 week prior to the start date of the workshop
Onsite registration is only available as space permits.


CANCELLATIONS:
 

Registration: Should you need to cancel your workshop registration, please send a letter stating your reason(s) to the FDLC National Office (FDLC, 415 Michigan Avenue, NE, Suite 70, Washington, DC 20017).  Refunds will be processed after the last workshop has concluded  (November 5, 2010) and will be calculated based upon date of receipt to allow for administration fees and, in the case of later cancellations, food that has been ordered.  Cancellations postmarked no later than 14 days prior to the workshop date will receive a $100 refund (less $25 administration fee).  Cancellations postmarked less than 14 days prior to workshop date will receive a $60 refund (less $25 administration fee and $40 for food ordered).

Housing: You will need to cancel your reservation directly with the vendor you chose, following the instructions received at the time you received a reservation confirmation from the facility.
