Director of Music, St. Mary of Vernon

St Mary of Vernon is a parish family of faith in the Archdiocese of Chicago. As part of this family and a member of the Pastoral Staff, the Director of Music is expected to take an active pastoral role in the parish. He/she is expected to be present to parishioners and develop a good working relationship with the ministries and organizations of the parish.

As a member of the Pastoral Staff, the Director is directly responsible to the Pastor and assists him with efforts to ensure parishioners encounter Jesus Christ through prayer, the sacraments, and worship. The scope of this role is to discern, plan, prepare and implement music opportunities for everyone in the parish. 

The Director will apply an appropriate balance of traditional and contemporary musical styles and will encourage and enable the full, conscious, and active participation of the Assembly.
