Pope Francis offers Lenten Message

Mon, 02/24/2020 - 1:37pm

Pope Francis has released his annual Lenten Message.  In it, he emphasized compassion for the poor and those affected by political upheavals and natural disasters. These should be the focus of our Lenten almsgiving.

The theme of the pope’s message, “We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God,” was taken from the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians (5:20).   Like the Apostle, Pope Francis invites us to return to God through constant conversion and reconciliation, and experience new life in Christ.
