Decree clarifies role of Bishops’ conferences in liturgical translations
A new decree from the Congregation for Divine Worship aims at highlighting the responsibilities of bishops’ conferences in the “great task” of completing the complex project of translating the Latin liturgical texts into vernacular languages.

Liturgical calendar updates for July
On June 3, 2016, Pope Francis raised the rank of the Memorial of Saint Mary Magdalene to a feast. And on January 26, 2021, the Holy Father inscribed the new obligatory memorial of Saints Martha, Mary and Lazarus (on the same day that was inscribed for St. Martha alone).
New edition of ritual book for ordinations approved
The new edition of The Ordination of Bishops, of Priests and of Deacons, the English translation of De Ordinatione episcopi, presbyterorum, et diaconorum, editio typica altera has been approved by the Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments. The use of this translation will be obligatory in the dioceses of the United States beginning November 28, 2021.
Pope approves 7 new invocations to Litany of St. Joseph
The Vatican Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments on Saturday introduced 7 new invocations to the litany in honour of St. Joseph. The initiative comes during the Year of St. Joseph which Pope Francis declared from December 8, 2020, to December 8, 2021.
