The Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions [FDLC] formed an Ad
Hoc Committee for Mystagogical Reflection in 2013 for the Roman Missal, Third Edition, focused on the Collect or Opening Prayer for Sunday, Solemnity,
and Holyday Masses. Work continued beyond this initial project for resources for the implications for discipleship and the Jubilee Year of Mercy.

Consecration of the USA to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (2026)
At their November 2025 Plenary Assembly, the Bishops of the United States voted to consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus to mark the country’s 250th birthday. As reported earlier, the consecration will take place on Thursday, June 11, on the eve of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Friday, June 12).
