Sacred Worship Coordinator; Archdiocese of Detroit

Assists in carrying out the vision of the Unleash the Gospel pastoral letter as it relates to the understanding and application of the Sacred Liturgy, RCIA (now OCIA) for adults and children, sacramental preparation, and the administration of the rites of the sacraments.

Under the direction of the Director of Sacred Worship, this position guides Families of Parishes (FOPs) in strengthening the missionary focus of the Sacred Liturgy, promoting active participation in the Mass to reclaim Sunday as the Day of the Lord for families and developing a path toward discipleship. This position also guides FOPs in the catechetical training, formation, and proper application of the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) in order to assist and guide parishes to lead the faithful toward a proper understanding and implementation of the OCIA process (with continual call to conversion) for all catechumens and candidates for full communion.

This position serves as the archdiocesan liaison for FOPs, OCIA directors and coordinators, as well as sacramental preparation directors and coordinators to provide direction, support, and accompaniment to parish-based and Catholic school staff and volunteers engaged in these ministerial areas.
