Director of Sacred Music & Coordinator of Liturgy, Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist (Diocese of Boise)

Status: Full-Time, Exempt. Ecclesiastical Minister 
Reports to: Cathedral Pastor and Rector. 
Effective Date: July 2024

The Director of Music is responsible for and maintains careful organization, technical preparation, and prayerful execution of all liturgical music at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, for both the parish and Diocesan related liturgies and functions. The director, in keeping with the Church’s guiding principles, will promote the full, conscious, and active participation of the faithful in liturgical celebrations. The director is to maintain a high standard of quality and prayerful effectiveness of sacred music in service to the liturgy for the glorification of God and the sanctification of the faithful. Through collaborative and open communication, the Director and Pastor share a unified vision in the liturgical life of the parish to express in our lives and to manifest to others the mystery of Christ and the real nature of the true Church.
